5Subscriptions hiding in your phone's app store
Many apps make money through subscriptions purchased inside the app itself. Those charges are often billed through your phone's app store account rather than directly by the developer, so they may show up on your statement under the app store's name instead of the app you actually used.
That makes them easy to miss. Open your phone's settings or app store account and look for the subscriptions section, which lists everything that renews automatically. You might find a photo editor, a meditation app, a game pass or a premium version of a tool you deleted long ago.
Here's the catch that surprises a lot of people: deleting an app from your phone doesn't cancel its subscription. You have to cancel through the account where you subscribed. While you're there, check whether any plans renew yearly instead of monthly, since an annual charge can catch you off guard when it hits all at once.
